Anyone Have Some Bubblewrap?

Yet another injury at the Dover house. I hope this isn't a clue of how the whole summer will be. I got a phone call after school that went like this "Mom, can you come get me? I was riding my skateboard and fell and hit my head." Sure, I went and got him because he has a history of seizures so I wanted to make sure he was ok. He will be just fine but REALLY.....I think this needs to stop.
Just a little flesh wound
Ouch....that will leave a mark.

He is my dramatic kid. I love him!!!! He insists that he can't do his homework because the bruise on his head is going in and not out. -hint-it is roadrash not a goose least I hope not.Poor kid. :(

BayLees Got Talent

BayLee out of nowhere decided to see how many spoons she could stick to her face. Pretty good for her first try! She wants to find out how many she has to stick on to break the "world record".

You Want Me to do WHAT????

My kids brought home a flyer letting us know that this week is National turn your TV off week! I don't watch it during the day at all really but I love my tv shows at night. How will I know who gets voted off survivor, who will leave Dancing with the Stars, who will be below the yellow line on Biggest Loser, who will be killed on CSI and who did it, who will Jo Frost save this week??? I am not sure how I will do at this!!! Gee, right there I sounded like a TV addict.... I may watch my shows during the day on the internet. Would that be called cheating the system???? BayLee and Logan really won't have much of a problem with this. They would rather run a muck outside anyway. But, do you think this includes the wii????? Well, wish me luck. I guess this is to help making the earth "GREEN" and BayLee does anything to make sure that energy is being conserved...I will keep you posted.

Where Is the Wind???

Since January the kids of Washington county have been reading reading reading! From January-April we have been keeping track of minutes read then yesterday kids could go to the Kite Festival and redeem their reading calendars for brand new kites. The kids are always excited to go to this and Adam just happened to be off, so he could join us in the fun. Well, there was one small problem........NO WIND! So there were a whole bunch of parents running around trying to get the kites in the air.
But it was really fun to spend the day as a family and that is what really matters. Who needs the wind to have a good time?

I love this picture....It says so much......BayLee with our friends Piper and Tyson, having a blast, then behind them (not sure why JD isn't in the picture...dang moving train...)is Logan and JD...look at Logans face, I think he is trying to make sure it is really attached.
Piper and Mia......Friends Forever

Logan having a blast trying to figure out his brand new stunt kite. Wish I could help ya buddy. I have a hard enough time with one string let alone two! :)
BayLees Grandma Bryant was working at this bounce house. Because of her broken arm, Grandma let her go through alone and I love this picture.
Best of Friends........(wink...wink...)

Yes, I am Having a Poor Me Day

I am having one of those days where you just want to crawl back into bed, pull the covers over your head, and go to sleep and wake up the next day. There are those days where you sit back and wonder "am I really doing a good job raising my kids"? I just feel like there is something more I can do for my son. I have read self help books, I have prayed until I just can't pray anymore. I have done everything that I can do.....but there has to be more. I want to be his "hero" not his "enemy". I want to "understand" and not "criticize".....I want to be there to "listen" not to "ignore". I know that inside of his active mind, things are going a mile a minute....kind of like a traffic jam. He has all of this energy and he is not sure where to channel it. So therefore he has to take a pair of scissors to brand new blinds and a hammer to the tile. I just think I need to better examine myself and maybe I will be able to understand. But I think I have dug about as far as I can.
I know things could be worse. I know that people have things far worse than this they have to deal with, I have heard that a million times. I admire mothers with a full plate that can still perform top notch. But I have reached the point where I am ok to admit that I am not perfect and I never will be. I am so thankful for Adam and the love that he shows me, he is definatley the best.
So yes, Mandee does have bad days, and this is one of them. So much for the back to bed idea....must continue marching on! Love you guys.

A Cast with Bling Bling

All is going well with her arm. She got her hard cast yesterday and of course picked PINK!!! The Dr. seems to think that the cast will be able to come off in four weeks. Just in time for Summer Vacation!!!! She is so proud of her pink cast, and of course we just couldn't keep it plain ole pink so we put jewels on it.

Easter Fun

Posted by Picasa
We had such a great Easter weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Boggess. They got a motel room here in St. George and spent Saturday and Sunday with us. Saturday was rainy and yucky so we just hung out. Sunday they went to church with us and that was really fun. I loved putting the kids in their new easter clothes and Grandma got Mia a bonnet. After church we went for a fun picnic and then the EGG RACE!!! It was so much fun to watch my kids enjoy something I enjoyed doing as a child. There is something about rolling hardboiled eggs down the hill and watching them explode into pieces. We would race them all the way down to the yolk. Mia just stayed at the bottom of the hill and kept getting in the way of flying yolk. But she was so fun to watch trying to catch them as if they were balls. Then she would pick them up and they would just crumble in her hands or on her face. I am so greatful for family and the memories that each holiday hold for us. We hope you all had a great Easter too.

Our Human Easter Egg

First of all, I wish I would have had a picture of it as this was unfolding but there were health factors in why we didn't........Mia was not into painting the eggs this year. Maybe next year. But I was busy checking out the glow in the dark eggs with BayLee and Logan and left Mia in the dining room with Adam who was busy decorating his eggs. Well, I come out the girls room and see Mia pulling a cup off the table (on her cute tippy toes) and before I can even get the words out, she is dumping the vinegar, died water in her cute little face. I yell to Adam he flies up, I grab Mia and we went running to the sink to flush her eyes out. After much flushing and much crying (Mia of course). We realize she is now died pink. But hey, it could have been worse. Blue or Green would have been awful. At least she will still match her dress. In preperation for our big egg race tomorrow Logan pipes up "HEY! I get the Mia Egg tomorrow. I will roll her down the hill."
After we got her all taken care of, I found humor in the situation. Her clothes and my clothes were toast. Oh the memories we create!

A Walk+ Crocs+ a Jean Skirt= A Broken Arm

This was the ER doc. Very funny guy. As he was wrapping her arm he accidently punched her face....not so funny. But he kept calling her "peanut".

Well, we have set a couple of family goals these past couple of weeks to eat better and to excercise. So in doing this, lastnight we went on our first walk as a family. We are going to walk every monday, wednesday, and friday. So, we get Mia in the stroller, jackets on (decided to get a little chilly in the desert), and headed on our way. Logan wanted to take his skateboard so we let him, I knew for sure we would be in the ER before the night was through with a broken leg.

Well, the ER part was right but it was BayLees arm. Man, she has never been to the Emergency Room. She was running away from playing with some dogs and was way excited and got running a little too fast. She was wearing a jean skirt and crocs (I didn't think she would be running), and she tripped and FLEW with her arms put straight out in front of her. Well, the momentum was so great, it broke.

I must say though. She is my superhero. She has been so positive about the whole thing and was loved at the ER by everybody. She always has a smile on her cute face even when she is hurting.
She was so brave and I admire her for that.

She will go to the orthopedic surgeon on Tuesday and he will decide what to do next. I will keep you posted.

Out Of the Mouth Of Babes

I could totally see Logan saying something like this!!!!!! I got this from my dad today and had to share.
This is a true story, proving how fascinating the mind of a six year old is. They think so logically. A teacher was reading the story of the Three Little Pigs to her class.. She Came to the part of the story where first pig was trying to gather the building Materials for his home. She read . 'and so the pig went up to the man with the Wheelbarrow full of straw and said: 'Pardon me sir, but may I have some of that Straw to build my house?'
The teacher paused then asked the class: 'And what do you think the man said?'
One little boy raised his hand and said very matter-of-factly ...'I think the Man would have said - 'Well, I'll be damned!! A talking pig!' The teacher had to leave the room.

Life as a Stay At Home Mom-HAVING A VENTING MOMENT

Imagine this: Sitting at home, watching a soap-opera while the kids frolic outside, propping my feet up while eating a big box of bon bons. NOT!!! I think this is what people tend to think that this is what housewifes do. We do nothing but sit around and waste the day away by reading a great book (which is the last thing I do) , watching a great movie, eating all we want, talking on the phone(I am guilty of this) , play with the kids (GUILTY). Ya, ok. Whoever that is, I want to find out her secret! I have had a few people over the last few weeks ask Adam "Why doesn't your wife take care of that"? "Why doesn't your wife take care of the Prescriptions that need to be filled?(keep in mind our pharmacy is 25 minutes away from my house and five minutes away from Adams work). How come your wife can't take care of the yard?(That was part of the deal when Adam wanted a house-I don't pull weeds) How come your wife doesn't take the car to be fixed?(um...I will get screwed over)" Give me a break. How much can one person do? Adam works 60+ hours a week, thus leaving me to do all the grunt work(which is fine.....that is my "job"). He is so good to step in and help me. I do rely on him quite a bit, I admit. But I think that is because I saw how my mom and dad worked together as a team.
Adam and I are a great team and he is so awesome to take the 7 prescriptions for Logan to get filled each month.(I don't think people realize how much is really going on behind the scenes with Logan). He is so great to make sure the car is running. He is great to get to the yard work when it is needed. I don't see anything wrong with that.
I don't think marriage works if he has "his" jobs and she has "her" jobs. I believe in teamwork.I may not like to pull weeds but I will do my share because I know he appreciates it. I am constantly thinking that a "stay at home mom" is anything but "at home". I am constantly running running running. Kids to school, grocery shopping, paying bills, take kids to soccer practice, watch other peoples kids, pick up the kids from soccer, take care of injuries done at soccer, take other kid to scouts, make dinner, clean up dinner, pick up kid from scouts, get kids desert, get kids in bath, get kids in pjs and in bed by 8. For what??? So I can start over in the morning.
So for all of you out there that think I am a (these are direct quotes) lazy, dependant, bossy wife: "Try being a housewife"! By the way, I don't think anyone could afford to pay a "housewife".

I Still Call It A Conspiracy (HDTV)

Ok, does anyone really understand what this whole thing is all about??? Well, my dear sweet hubby has explained it to me in every way possible. I still think that Big Brother is just trying to control what we do!! We got a really nice TV (46 inch LCD) with HDTV built into it. So I thought "SWEET! We are all set for the switchover". Well, no.....that would be too easy. Our cable provider (which Adam worked for 5 years) doesn't broadcast in HD even after June 12. WHAT?????? So that then forced us to put up yet a third atenna (one is internet, one is FM radio) just so our nice TV would work. OH MY HEAVENS! Honestly, things were just fine with our little TV and our analog channels. Why oh why, is it our problem widening up the bandwidth of frequencies. If on June 13 our TV doesn't work and they say "OH, we have decided to just stick with analog". I will not be happy. I think it is a conspiracy between the government and the electronic industry. :) But hey, Adam looks MIGHTY FINE on that roof. So, if anything, at least that is worth it.
