Cousins with Santa

We took another trip to Cedar on Saturday so the cousins could spend more time together. We don't see eachother enough so when we are all around I like the kids to spend a lot of time together. We went to a cute little tree festival and had fun looking at all the trees. There were pretty cute trees.
What is a christmas fest without a visit to Santa. We hurried and got a picture on his lap. It was quite the adventure. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

The Princesses asked BayLee if she would take a picture with them

and she didn't want to. I felt bad so I posed with them and Logan yelled

"I'LL TAKE MY PICTURES WITH THE PRINCESSES.....THEY ARE HOT"

I was mortified!

The girls + Ajay in front of the Barbie tree.
Ajay loves his Aunt Mandee. We were making Dopey feel like he wasn't all alone.
We collect Nutcrackers so we HAD to get a picture with all of them.

The kids were most excited about the Michael Jackson nutcracker.

I didn't notice how young this Santa was until I saw the picture.

I was too busy trying to convince the little ones that Santa wouldn't eat them.

A Little Bit of Mia

Mia is growing way too fast. I can't believe my baby is almost two and she is the last baby and the time is flying. She is such a good little girl, so mellow and just happy to be where ever she is and what she is doing. She looked super cute and her hair doesn't ever stay done so I had to capture it while I could!

So precious!

Thanksgiving "Bliss"

What a great Thanksgiving Day! I love everything about Thanksgiving. I love the family, the food, the resting, the laughing, and the PIE!!
Because my dads arm is still healing from being broken, Tony and Adam hung the lights for my mom and dad. Before we knew it all the kids were out there helping too (Logan even tried to get on the roof).
What a goofie pair!
Mother and Daughter in the kitchen (where we spent most of the day).
YUMMY FOOD!
Then of course the games had to come out. When you play board games with Logan
it is VERY important to read the instructions.......
I love this picture! These two are the best of friends.

Too Much Fussin

This just happened as I was taking BayLee to school and had to come straight home and put it in writing so I wouldn't ever forget it.
We were pulling up to the school and passed a group of girls sitting in a circle on the grass.
BayLee : "There's Daryn and the 'group' " (mind you Daryn and Bay are bestfriends so I didn't understand 'the group' phrase)
Me: "So, are you part of the group"?
Bay: "No, I don't want to be a part of any group. I want to be friends with everyone. Groups have to much fussin, whinin, and drama. I don't have time for that stuff."
Me: "Oh, I see."
I was laughing so hard inside because of the choice of words but I was also so very proud of her. She is the type to avoid drama and likes to make sure everyone is included. It was so sweet. There was no sign of jealousy because she knows that she could be a part of a 'group' but doesn't have a desire to be. So as she got out of the car she saw her friend Hannah whom is Down Syndrome and gave her a big hug and proceeded to walk across the grass hand in hand with Hannah and all the girls in the 'group' waved and yelled her name. She waved and just kept on going with Hannah. I felt honored to watch such a thing.

Good Clean Fun

Aren't we so thankful for the toddler years? Mia is so much fun. Super laid back compared to other offspring I have brought into this world! Adam is my shower cleaner. It is his designated "chore" and he happened to do it on Sunday. He started the shower, went into the garage to grab the cleaner, came back to the bathroom and found this. Mia had been with me so he thought it would be ok. We had to capture this moment.
Now mind you, a year ago she was SCARED to death of water. She hated baths, showers, puddles, rain, swimming pools, and didn't even like to drink it much. Now every day when I am in the shower she will try to inch in little by little. So she must have felt very successful Sunday as she made it all the way in with her clothes on.

And yes.....that is a cell phone in her hand!
Look at that happy face.

I Have a Job!

I have taken the plunge and have decided to add one more thing to my overflowing plate. I am now a Tupperware Consultant! I am so excited for this journey and the opportunity it will give me to get out of debt. That is my sole goal for this. I am anxious to see where it takes me. I know that the turnover is great and people are in and out home businesses like these but I really am striving to make it work and be a successful distributor! I have five parties lined up and hopefully I can get more parties lined up in the very near future. If you are looking for Tupperware and aren't sure where to look, I have my own little webpage that you can order from here and it will be delivered to your home! Feel free to do so. Also, you can do a catalog party from this site and earn free Tupperware for Christmas gifts. Let me know if this is something you would like to do and I can help you with it. There are so many new items and so many items always on sale. The great thing about Tupperware is that the warranty is for life and they also keep some of the "vintage" products around. Here is to a great opportunity that will hopefully be a success!

Happy 101 Birthday Grandma Simkins

Today one of the greatest people alive turns 101! I can't even begin to tell you how much of an inspiration she is to me year after year. She just keeps going and has one of the most positive attitudes I have ever seen. These are just a few things about my Grandma that makes her special:
1. She always has a way to brighten a room.
2. She knows all of her Grandchildrens, Great Grandchildrens, and Great Great Grandchildrens likes and dislikes. She has a special place in her heart for each and every one of them.
3. She is a HUGE Utah Jazz fan. She won't miss a game for ANYTHING!
4. She still uses a treadmill everyday and has to get to the basement to use it (I must admit this one makes me nervous)
5. She gives the greatest hugs and kisses.
6. She loves her yard and really cares about what it looks like.
7. She uses Jergens lotion and that right there is a memory I will have for life.
8. She is always thinking and has a great memory.
9. She is a great example to my children. They love her so much and wish we could see her more often.
10. SHE IS MY GRANDMA AND THAT MAKES ME HAPPY!

It's Halloween Time!

WHEW! We made it past Halloween and boy did we end up with a lot of candy. It is crazy how many pumpkin heads you can fill up in three hours. I think we ended up walking three miles at least. We covered way more ground than we ever do. I told Adam everyday should be Halloween, it would get us out walking as a family. I had a great time with the kids and Adam. We go a couple miles away from our town because I prefer to do the door to door style and not car to car style in trunk or treat.
We met up with some friends and ran into a lot of people that we know, so that made it even more fun. Next year we need to just all go together.
Before we went Trick or Treating our church had a really fun Chili cookoff and carnival for the kids. It was so much fun and it was really great to have the kids eat dinner before instead of after.

This is the best picture I got of Mia I hate to say. My camera is dying a slow painful death so good pictures are hard to come by. She made a cute witch.
This is part of our group. At one time there were about 15 kids from BayLees elementary all going together. It was so much fun.

BayLee and her friend Daryn with Logan in the middle of course.

I am not sure what the tongue sticking out thing is all about but BayLee did it in most
pictures. This was when Mia was trying to figure out what was going on.

Australia Anyone?

I just had a really fun weekend! My friends Maggie, Kim, and I had been looking forward to this weekend for a LONG time. We were so excited to go down to Las Vegas and let it loose! Saturday morning though, Maggies awesome hubby Eric had to go to the ER and was admitted for some health problems that he has. We were ready to call the whole trip off because Maggie is so much fun to be around and we felt bad leaving her and felt bad having fun while her poor hubby suffered. But she insisted that we go anyway and so we did. We had a really good time but missed her terribly. But that means we will just have to go back!
Kim and I loaded up the car and headed to Vegas. First stop was FOOD! I must say we pretty much ate ourselves through the day. We started out at In n Out Burger. Which I must say the one in Vegas is sooo much better than the one in St. George (go figure). I was introduced to "animal style" which is grilled onions on the burger. TASTY!!! After that we headed to the outlet mall and found way fun stuff -hence the feathers in our hair. I am now in love with feather accessories. We fell in love with some boots but left them on the shelf....sad day..... I still dream about them. After which we saw a DUNKIN DONUTS and I HAD TO STOP!!!! We ate a donut and a beverage of choice. Yummy yummy. We then spent the next hour laughing so hard we couldn't breathe. It was so much fun. After that we went and just wandered the strip. I must say the strip is getting pretty bad these days. Just don't look down as you walk the street. You will see that you are not built the way certain others are built. I will just leave it at that. :)
We then went and had dinner at Rainforest Cafe and had yummy dinner. We had a waitress slip and fall and hit her head on the ground thus throwing her into a seizure. Kim and I were wondering if things could possibly get anymore exciting. WELL, IT DID!!! THUNDER FROM DOWN UNDER was an amazing show. I think it has a way bad rap. It wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. We saw more on the strip and in the casinos then in there. Wowzers, those men have such great talent. Their dancing was incredible and I am not going to lie, they were H-O-T!!!! It felt so good to be silly and to laugh and to know that I have a great husband that supports me and understands me and lets ME be ME. It has been really hard to fit in here in Utah. I just have my own agenda and with the pressure to be this or that drives me nutso and I forget who I am. I feel like I need to form myself into someone I just cannot form into. Does that make any sense? I think I just need to remind myself from time to time that it is OK to have fun and it is OK to laugh and act crazy. I came home such a nicer and patient mom and wife. I needed a breather and it is OK to breathe it is OK to leave my kiddos behind and have adult fun. In fact.....we are planning another get away next year....HOLLYWOOD HERE WE COME!!!!!

No Time Like Cuddle Time

I need to cherish moments like these. She is our last baby and it is so sad to see the time flying by. I can't believe she will be two in a couple of months. Where has the time gone?

A Girl After My Own Heart

Can I just tell you how much I love this little girl? She is such an example to me. She always TRIES to be nice to everyone and tries to make everyone feel included. Granted there are times she has an "emotional moment" but I will totally accept that and love her for that. BayLee just goes with the flow and loves to express herself through her clothes and her random hairstyles. She is getting to that age where she knows what she wants and will ask me to do her hair in that way. This particular morning she wanted two buns on top and one in the middle. I asked her several times if she was sure (because I knew it would be kinda silly) but she was sure. I tell you what, she walked up to that school so full of confidence it really made me think and it made me realize what a great kid she is. I could have convinced her to do her hair otherwise, I could have convinced her to wear matching socks (she is in a multi sock color phase), I could have convinced her to do just about anything. But I let her be who she is and she was so sure of her self and I think that is what really matters.
**As she was headed to the door, she asked me to take a picture for the blog and she came up with the title of this post. **

Over the River and Through the Woods

We took advantage of Conference Sunday and took a ride through Zion, Kolob, and down Cedar Mountain to visit with my parents. My dad fell at Bryce Canyon yesterday and ended up breaking his arm. Poor guy.
The ride was beautiful and the kids had a great time on the drive. We were a week to late for the bright vibrant colors. The colors were pretty though.
It brought back great memories of Sunday drives I had as a kid and made me realize we need to do it more often. Sure there is bickering and potty breaks, drink breaks, and photo opts, but it was all worth it.
After we visited with my parents we headed the back way home through Enterprise. We are so blessed to live in a place that people travel all over from to see. I need to stop and smell the roses a little more often.

Some nice ladies saw us at the side of the road taking pictures so they stopped
and offered to take a family picture.
My sweet kids.

BayLee is my little social butterfly. She will talk to anyone and everyone and by the end of the conversation they become her "new bestfriend". I love that about BayLee. She is so thoughtful of others and tries to make everyone feel included. I know that she has a special heart and loves to have friends around her all of the time.
Yesterday she had a friend over for 7 hours so we decided to make homemade pretzels. What good kids these two are. They were bummed we had to run a few errands so I pretended I was their chauffer, then at the drive through car wash I told them that we were then in a submarine. They loved it and jumped right on board with it. I love it when kids use their imagination!!! I am grateful that we can have video games and tv around and still balance "good ole play" right along with it. Most of all I am thankful for my cheerful daughters that make life worth it all.

KAPOOT

I have officially hit rock bottom. I am so tired and worn out. The carnival sucked everything out of me and now I must figure out if it really was worth all the tears, strength, ignoring of my family, bickering, being around negativity for three weeks straight, frustration that open mindness isn't an option.
But because of this carnival my kids ate way too much fast food, Mia spent hours and hours and hours and hours in the car while I ran errand after errand after errand, Adam had to take a half day off just to watch my kids because babysitters fell through. Shouldn't I be able to watch my own kids? How do other moms do it? How do other moms put their families on the back burner and be way involved in EVERYTHING and still move forward with everything else?? I just can't do it. I am not going to put what I love most on the side just so I can feel better about what I do to help others. Sometimes I worry so much about what other moms are doing that I forget WHO I am. I am a mom that LOVES to be with her kids and husband. I am a mom that LOVES to plan parties, so somehow I need to balance the two and move at my own pace and not at other supermoms paces.
I sometimes wish I could just be one of those moms that just sit back and let the school take care of EVERYTHING and not help one bit with the PTO or anything for that matter. But I know that my kids love seeing me be involved with their school lives.
I didn't get to spend ONE minute with BayLee at the carnival. I was stuck in a tiny hallway inside the school with the silent auction. She had been worried that she wouldn't be able to reach the top of the rock climb and sure enough she accomplished it and I wasn't even able to watch her do it. I missed my kids during the past two weeks, I missed my husband these past two weeks, I missed REAL food, I missed quiet phones, I missed Mias perfect schedule that is now totally messed up, I missed watching LOST Biggest Loser SURVIVOR and many more shows I love, I missed my quiet days and quiet nights.
SO for now, over and out and I need to refocus and rebalance my life. Would that be so bad

Sunday Craze

So Sunday is the day the kids look their best. Dressed up in their nicer clothes. Hair done perfectly. The best accessories possible. The house is harmonious. Everyone is helping eachother get ready, everybody is listening. UMMMM.....probably not. Sundays are the most chaotic mornings of the week. For some reason everything goes wrong, everyone is cranky, so here is a look into our sunday photo sessions.

These are yesterdays pictures.

I wanted to capture Mias darling dress......unaccomplished

Here is my poser. She loves getting her picture taken.
I felt bad that Mia wouldn't pose with BayLee so I jumped in.
Such a sweet sister, she wanted to take a picture with Mia so bad.
We moved it outside and the dang dogs wanted part of the action. ARG!!
And still smiles on BayLees face.

I WILL have one....OH YES I WILL!!!!

We went camping this past weekend and put a tent, a cooler, four sleeping bags, food, camp mate, four pillows, clothes bag, four camp chairs, diapers, wipes,2 dutch ovens, a lantern with propane tank, 24 pack of water, four fishing poles, two tackle boxes, and five people into our little Dodge Intrepid. It was CRAZY!!! We have lost our van due to an accident that Adam had in it last month so I am thinking that this is the prime time to buy my dream vehicle! I have wanted one of these forEVER!!! I want a tie died one with a peace sign on the top. So we have begun the search and I WILL find one. :) I can just imagine us cruisin up the highway to our campin spot and better yet travel around the USA in this beauty. The best part is that Adam totally supports my desire for this beauty. Wish me luck!!!!

Funny Joke

I heard this joke the other day and thought it was hysterical.

Oppression is when your neighbor loses their home.

Depression is when you lose your home.

Recovery is when Obama loses his!!

Man that was good. I laugh more and more each time I hear it. Thanks for listening!!

Hey BayLee!! I need a loan!!!

Yesterday we played Monopoly as a family and BayLee ended up owning the WHOLE board at the end of the game. It was insane. I am somehow the first one out of the game EVERY time we play it. BayLee didn't even have to really try to own the board, luck just fell in her lap and she knew what to do with it. I was so impressed with her bargaining skills along with her math skills. She was a gracious winner of course.

Big Kid Pinewood Derby

Posted by Picasa
Lastnight we went to a church Pinewood Derby race for the men in our ward. It was a blast. I have never seen so many men excited about the same thing at the same time. There were close to twenty racers and they were all like proud peacocks with their cars as feathers. I tell you what, they were so proud of their cars and they were so nice to eachother. All day saturday we had people at our house getting help from Adam and just chillin around the kitchen table doing the finishing touches on their cars. It was so fun to watch them.
The races were all pretty close and the heats went by a lot faster than the scouts derbys! We were all done with the whole thing in an hour and a half. Adam won first place in the outlaw race and lost the regular race by three HUNDRETHS of a second. It was awesome!!!! I think I want to make a car. :)
