Along Came a Spider

The worst thing happened to me today! First of all for those of you who don't know, I suffer from SEVERE acrachnaphobia. I mean SEVERE! It is to the point to where eachday I put on my shoes I shake the shoes just in case there is a spider in my shoes. I also have my kids sort the laundry so I won't have to see a spider if there is one. I know I know, not very nice. Logan though is catching on. He is just about, if not more, like me. BayLee is the tough one. She will kill it(yes, I kill the spiders, I know I am mean-sorry), as Logan and I argue with eachother who should kill it. I try to be tough but I CAN'T. (Tried to put a picture of a wolf spider on blog entry but couldn't bring myself to google it!!!)
Anyways this morning I was feeling really congested and needed to get in the shower to try to loosen things up. Well, I got out of the shower and started drying off and out of the corner of my eye I noticed movement. I look over and there is a HUGE Wolf spider on the floor of my shower!!! I SHOWERED WITH A SPIDER!!!! I totally sympathize with Little Miss Muffett at this point. I freak out and flung the door open and YELLED to Adam to come take care of it. It was terrible. A friend of mine told me I should have washed him down the drain. NO WAY!! He would totally have been waiting for me to return tomorrow morning, climb up the drain, and PULL me through the drain!!!! It could happen. I don't know why a person like me lives in the desert!!!!!!!!! I think tomorrow I will use the kids shower.

Tour Of Utah

Innocent Humor

One of my favorite things to do while I am driving the kids around is to listen to what they have to say to eachother. Sometimes it is nice and other times not so nice but this morning it was great humor.

Logan and BayLee were talking about playing girls chase boys and vice-versa. Of course Bay loves boy chases girls. She was saying she likes to have them chase her. Logan then says (this is where it gets good) "I love poking the girls with my finger until they chase me. They hate being poked. So I will poke them and they will chase me." BayLee says<"Why" Logan says,"I love it when the girls chase me because then I am covered in girls. AWWWW.Such a cheap way to get a girls attention". I about fell out of the drivers seat from laughing so hard. He said it so seriously and he meant it. He had no idea I was listening so of course then he became embarrased but it was great. I love that boy-so innocent and willing to say EXACTLY what is on his mind.

Great Giveaway at a Great Site!

Ok ladies!! (and gents) I have found the greatest site ever. She has the coolest ideas and things to see. She is having an awesome giveaway this week. Over $900 in product. Each day she is doing a different giveaway. Today is the Cricut. Can you believe it! That is awesome. I was going to be selfish and keep this giveaway to myself but I decided to be nice and share the great find. So go over to her site Vanilla Joy to enter. She also has lots of links on her site-take surveys for money, this I love: discipline for children, and good ole family fun. I also noticed she had creative date ideas to and I really need that because of the lack of creativity that has developed inside of my brain.

So check it out and good luck!!!

7 Months Old!!! NO way~~

She has always loved to stick her tongue out. Seriously that is how she was born, sticking her tongue out. Pretty cute.
Daddy painted the girls nails today. She loves to cross her feet. And she can spread all of her toes apart. Such pretty toesies!!

As I was talking to my friend Mindy today at church(in the hall during class mind you) I came to the realization that Mia is seven months old today. My oh my! Where did the time go?? I can't believe it. The nine months I was carrying her didn't seem to go by this quickly. She is such a little bundle of joy. These are some of the milestones we are going through right now:

*Rolling all over the place and kind of scooting to get to where she wants to be.

*Teething.....but where are the teeth?

* Sleeping through the night (since two months old.....NICE)

* Eating babyfood with us at the table at meal time and loves her high chair

*Tries to sit up......kind of

*LOVES her brother and sister

*LOVES her daddy

Some of this and Some of that

Just a quick reminder to check out my other site I have with my friend Brandy. It can be found here!!!!

We love nap time

Now that the house is nice and quiet during the day Mia is starting to get into a routine. She is so much fun. Yesterday she was really fussy because teething is beginning and we had had a long tiring day because of that. I was holding her and singing to her and she fell asleep. She curled up in the fetal position and looked like she could sleep for hours. I look at the clock and realize I have to go get BayLee and Logan in five minutes. Isn't that the way luck goes?? :) I love watching the kids sleep, so innocent and happy. I hadn't put any pictures on the blog for awhile and wanted to share my sweet sleeping baby with everyone.

I love the "sucking" face that babies make while they sleep.

Four Generations

Today I was hanging out with my mom ,dad and Grandma. OHHH the luxuries of having kids in school. :) Anyways, as I was headed out the door I had a thought. There aren't too many people who can say their Grandma lived to be over 100 years old. I need pictures of my kids with their Great Grandma as much as possible. She will be 100 in November. She is such a great lady. I love her soooo much. She goes back in forth from her house in Sandy to my moms house in Cedar. She still lives by herself and takes care of herself. She is such an inspiration to me and my kids love her. I love you Grandma!!!

First Day of School ALREADY

Never fear the first day is here. Holy cow. I can't believe I am old enough to have a fifth grader and a first grader. It totally blows my mind. Logan was so excited he woke up at 6:00 this morning. I think my days of sleeping in have ended. :) I had to wake BayLee up though at 7:45. They were so cute today getting ready. Their hair had to be just right and they had to wear just the right outfit. They had a french toast breakfast and juice. This is Logans last year in elementary school then off to the big school on a bus. BayLees teacher is Mrs. Murphy and is super nice. Logans teacher is Mrs. Marshall and we haven't heard anything but good things about her. I spent my day hanging out with Mia. I think I can get used to this. :) I miss my helpers though. I am blessed to have great helpers. Love you guys!!!!!!! Didn't get pictures of Logan at the school he was in a hurry to go to his classroom.

Off to school. I didn't realize the sun was in Bays eyes.
This is his "macho" stance!!! (I love his shirt and shorts)
My little first grader. So excited!!!!!
This is Taya. They were in the same class lastyear. Thank heaven for familiar faces.
BayLee and JD of course. They are growing up so fast.

Fish For Dinner

We spent the day fishing today. YES we should have been somewhere else but Adam had the itch to fish and the guy never has a day off.(This is my justification!). We had a great time. We went on a 30 minute drive out of the desert into the mountains to beautiful Pine Valley. It was such a pretty day. Usually I fish too but I was busy enough taking care of lunch, Mia, and wishing for a COKE. Adam only packed water because it is "better" for us. I think I made myself get a migraine because I "Needed" a coke!!!!! We spent about five hours up there and had a great time.
BayLee waited the longest to catch a fish. She was getting bored and impatient UNTIL she caught one. She was so happy. That is my girl.
Logan and BayLee insisted that Dad kisses the fish. Well, Adam did. He said he was trying to give it mouth to mouth because it was a little on the small size but the silly guy swallowed the hook. (The fish did not Adam)
Logan took this picture. It was the last fish caught of the day. We got it home and it was 12 inches long and it was caught by Logan. Thanks for dinner buddy!
Logan is so fun to watch fish. He takes it SOOOO serious. Maybe that is why he always catches the biggest and the most. He is very careful about how he does it and is the first to give advice to fishermen that may be by us. Today he said "Mom, they need to make my sport an olympic event. I would for sure win the Gold". I love confidence.
Adam is such a great sport when it comes to fishing. He always spends most of the time fixing lines, casting, getting lines unstuck from the trees, unhooking fish. But he was able to catch two today, so that was good. He is so great, he even butterflies them when he cleans them so we won't choke on bones. I have had my share of fishbones stuck in my throat-not a great feeling-so he researched how to butterfly them for me and now my kids are spoiled by that too!!

Can you tell Adam has chased Logan with a few fish in his lifetime. Logan always keeps an eye on the fish. We tried to get him to kiss it but he wouldn't. I guess he doesn't do EVERYTHING his dad does.

Tree Climbing 101

Now THIS is priceless. She loves nature. We will be driving down the road and she will see litter and DEMANDS that I stop so she can pick it up. If it is safe I will do it. If not I tell her sorry and she just glares at me. Today in PineValley out of nowhere she says "Mom, how can people destroy our beautiful earth". It was so sweet.
He loved to climb the rocks but he didn't spend much time doing it because he wanted to fish. He just saw me taking pictures and wanted to do it too. What a cute.....I mean handsome...(he says he can't be cute anymore) guy.
Same tree different pose.

Future Fisherwoman!!!!! She had a blast. I thought it would be really tricky with a baby (out of practice) but it was great. She was so happy and loved hangin out and just was watching every move we made. OOOOOOOOO I love her......I could just squeeze her.

A Little of This and A Little of That

I am proud to announce that I have expanded my blogging world!!! Brandy and I have started a new blog today all about helping out moms with great ideas. We are both addicted to blog hopping and find all sorts of great ideas. Some ideas we leave the same and some we twist to our own liking.
One day we were both talking about doing another blog with cooking, crafts, great tips, and good ideas. Brandy called me the next day and suggested we do one together. I am so excited to do this. I hope all of you check it out often and please feel free to share a great idea you have. Afterall that is what being a mom is all about, we help eachother out.
Part of me thinks I am crazy. I spend a lot of time on this blog, I wonder how much time I will spend adding to a second one. :) The things we do!!!!

Indoor Campout Eating

Happiness is Eating Smores with your family

The BEST way to eat a marshmallow. Burnt to perfection.
Lastnight for dinner we had tin foil dinners. Super yummy. We finished off the evening with indoor smores. Our friends Bruce and Tamara gave us a nifty smore maker that we use quite often. All it takes is a sterno, graham crackers, chocolate, and of course marshmallows. It made us really want to go camping.

Mamma Mia

My friend Kris and I went to Mamma Mia lastnight. Ok, I saw My Best Friends Wedding 17 times in the theater over 10 years ago and have yet to see a movie that could come close to topping it. Mamma Mia passes it up with flying colors and I only needed to see it once to know that. I felt like jumping out of my seat to sing and dance along. I also think I loved it so much because it was filmed in Greece (I had to stick around to read the credits to make sure it wasn't fake Greece!). After living in Greece it was great to see it portrayed so great. I love that it is all about womanhood and friendship. It brought out every emotion. Thank heavens for ABBA and Mamma Mia. Pierce Brosnon was fabulous, cannot stand James Bond but he did wonderful in this. You HAVE to go see it. So, get a group of ladies together and go on a girls night out. I hope to get a group together to see the play in Vegas. LOVED IT!!!! Thanks Adam for being so great and always letting me hang out with the girls. I love you.

Adam went diving in Sand Hollow Resevoir this week and had a great time. He found a toy boat and that was about it. :) It looks pretty cool under there but I have NO desire to ever go under water. BayLee hopes to be able to do it with him some time. She is my little daredevil. Logan can't do it yet because of his ears and seizures-which is a bummer because he would really like it too. They love doing whatever Adam does.
